In the novel i studied, Mr Dolphus Raymond: He isnt a drinker but he acts as one because it is a label given to him from the society. He does not bother what the people say, he just live with the name, he does what he wants.
Thats the case since i was young. So, we are used to such situation. Mum should live well with it and takes it as something natural. Take it to heart and to grudge over such matter arent going to do her good anw.
Their frowns and worried faces always ruin our day.
Stay happy and optimistic would be the best solution. Cheers! (:
